His independent identity also remained unknown. It is now established that ʿAzod Sarrāf was a later poet than ʿAzod Yazdi. He was a contemporary of Ḥafez and held an administrative position at the court of the Muzaffarids for years. Their divans contain mutual remonstrances, implying accusations of plagiarism. The striking similarities and shared motifs in the poetry of Ḥāfeẓ and ʿAzod Sarrāf suggest an inevitable rivalry and contention between them. It appears that the most prominent instance of the term <em>moddaʿī</em> (claimant) in Hafez’s poetry refers to ʿAzod Sarrāf. The resemblance between ʿAzod and Ḥafeẓ is not limited to their poetry; both held official positions in the Muzaffarid administration, their birth and death occurred within close temporal proximity, and it is highly probable that they were born in the same city. Examining the life and poetry of ʿAzod Sarrāf not only sheds light on a forgotten poet but also provides valuable insights into Ḥafeẓ’s standing within the Muzaffarid court and his literary conflicts with contemporary poets. This study, through a descriptive-analytical approach and content analysis, explores for the first time the dimensions of ʿAzod and Ḥafeẓ’s rivalry as reflected in their verses. تا پیش از یافته شدن نسخۀ یگانه‌شناخت دیوان عضد صرّاف، اشعار او ازجمله سندبادنامۀ منظومش در شمار سروده‌های عضد یزدی قلمداد می‌شد. هویّت مستقل او نیز ناشناخته باقی مانده بود. اکنون می‌دانیم که عضد صرّاف، شاعری متأخّر از عضد یزدی است. صرّاف معاصر حافظ بوده و سال‌ها در دربار آل مظفّر شغل دیوانی داشته است. در دیوان هر دو شاعر تعاریضی نسبت به یک‌دیگر دیده می‌شود که متضمّن اتّهام انتحال است. وجود مشابهات و اشتراکات چشم‌گیر در دیوان حافظ و عضد صرّاف بروز منافسه و مناقشه میان ایشان را اجتناب‌ناپذیر می‌نماید. به نظر می‌رسد که بارزترین مصداق تعبیر «مدّعی» در اشعار حافظ، عضد صرّاف باشد. شباهت میان عضد و حافظ به سروده‌های ایشان محدود نیست. هر دو در دستگاه مظفریان صاحب مسند بوده‌اند. تولد و وفات هر دو در زمانی نزدیک به یکدیگر روی داده است و به احتمال قوی مولد هر دو نیز یکی است. تأمّل در زندگی و شعر عضد صرّاف افزون بر آن که موجبات شناخت بیشتر یک شاعر فراموش‌شده را فراهم می‌آورد، اطلاعات ارزشمندی دربارۀ جایگاه حافظ در دستگاه مظفریان و نیز چالش‌های او با برخی شاعران هم‌عصرش، به دست می‌دهد. در این جستار با روش تحلیل محتوا و به شیوۀ توصیفی-تحلیلی برای نخستین بار ابعاد مناقشۀ عضد و حافظ را از تضاعیف سروده‌هایشان جستجو می‌کنیم. https://jls.um.ac.ir/article_47401_a184b51c3c0a59aa77a732e688445eaa.pdf
