Aims and Scope
Journal of New Literary Studies publishes the findings of scholarly research and contributions on Persian Language and Literature in order to promote the studies in this field, to communicate new scientific findings, and to create a space for discussing scientific innovations and thoughts from the national and international arenas. The first issue of the journal was published in the spring of 1344/1965, entitled “Journal of the Faculty of Literature of Mashhad”, directed by Dr. Javad Hadidi as Editor-in-Charge. The name of the journal changed several times over its history. The name of the journal changed into “Journal of Faculty of Letters and Humanities of Mashhad” from the Issue 17 in the spring of 1348/1969. Form the 37th issue (the spring of 1353/1974) the papers were published under the title “Journal of Faculty of Letters and Humanities of Mashhad University” and under the title “Journal of Faculty of Letters and Humanities of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad” from Issue 57 to Issue 64. The journal was published from Issue 66 to Issue 139 (1366/1987 to 1381/2003) holding “scientific rank” according to the Iran ranking regulation of journals. As in the spring of 1382/2004, the journals were obligated to focus on one particular field, the new papers were then published under the title “Journal of Faculty of Letters and Humanities, Specialized in Language and Literature”. The journal holds the name “New Literary Studies” from the issue 164. It was a semiannual journal up to 1387/2008 but then it turned to be published quarterly. The journal accepts and publishes scholarly review, empirical, and theoretical articles on the following central themes:
